I have to tell you… if you want a quiet dinner for a personal treat - to enjoy, wine and dine Akebono is a place for you. I mean, don’t get me wrong - I love company as much as the next person - but sometimes - you want to spend the time with yourself and give yourself a treat.

想一個人找個安安靜靜的地方享用晚餐 ,那我不得不向你推薦Akebono(曙日餐廳)。當然,我也很喜歡朋友的陪伴,但有時候,用美食和美酒犒勞一下自己也是一種享受。

So I heard about Akebono and as I was working close by - I made a spur of the moment decision and gave it a shot. I arrived to the hotel lobby around 6pm and talked to the staff at the reception, who struggled with English a bit but they apologized and got me someone who pointed me to the right direction.

Akebono離我工作的地方不遠,於是我決定到這裡來試試。下午6點左右,我到了酒店大堂,和接待處的工作人員略微交談後便前往餐廳。

One elevator ride and I was there. The staff welcomed me and after discussing about the menu I opted for the fish menu as the bigger set with meat and fish was for 3 people. As I was alone and eager they made an Exception and prepared the Chef Table experience only for me even though it requires 3 people. After the short talk I was ushered into a room, where the table was set in a nice and delicate manner and we were ready to start.

坐電梯可直達餐廳。工作人員很熱情,我點了菜單上得刺身三人餐。我雖只有一個人,但他們還是為我準備了主廚的體驗。之後,我們來到一個包間,餐桌漂亮而精緻,準備開動了。

I was served warm’n’mild Sake and Tea while I was waiting for my appetizers. The wasabi octopus was strong but not overpowering and the slightly sweet and sour potato salad were both beautifully crafted and wonderful to taste.

等待開胃菜之餘,小酌幾口清酒和茶。頭盤芥末章魚口感較重但不嗆人,不至於吃得要流淚;略帶酸甜的土豆沙拉,既精美又美味。

Soon after that the Chef arrived and started to prepare the main course on the surface in front of me. The sashimi plate came soon after I wrapped up my appetizers and the shrimp was fresh as well as the tuna. The taste of fish was fresh and meaty with aftertaste of the sea, just like back home.

不久後,主廚來了,並開始準備主菜:刺身拼盤的蝦和金槍魚都鮮美無比。魚的口感豐實,不腥而清新,有海風拂面那般的熟悉與親切感。

The chef Ford was almost done preparing the first part to the main course - fish - which was almost my favorite part when the soup arrived.

主菜中,除了 我最愛的魚 –主廚Ford還為我準備了湯。

After I finished the fish plate and the chef started to prepare my fried tiger shrimp. I took a few sips of the soup. The pieces in the soup were big and tasty and even though I should not eat the contents before I drank the soup, I got carried away by the smell and finished both at the same time. The soup was neutral tasting with no remedies taking over the balance of the dish.

之後,主廚開始為我準備炸虎蝦。我喝了幾口湯,湯裡的魚肉和蔬菜都很好吃,很快就被我一掃而光。湯汁只是稍加調味,味道卻醇香鮮美。

As the whole evening was nicely timed, just after finishing the soup - the 2nd part of the main course was done. The fried shrimp was good but not my top choice for the evening. All other dishes danced so nicely with my pallet that the shrimp - even though nicely presented was a bit ordinary compared to the other tastes I enjoyed through the night.

緊接著,主菜的第二部分就完成了。炸蝦很好吃,但吃起來也沒有很驚豔的感覺,相比之下我更喜歡另外幾道菜。

The final meal of fried rice with 4 types of cheese was a welcome surprise, and even though it was a bit on the spicy side, I have quite enjoyed it. The underlaying taste of soy sauce is always something my mouth focuses on and this time was no exception. The meal was finished with a nice fruit plate which finely concluded my little gastronomy journey.

最後一道菜同樣沒有讓人失望,搭配了4種類型的乳酪的炒飯,口味微辣,配以醬油,入味十足,深得我愛。最後還上了個水果拼盤,完美!

I have to say I enjoyed my evening and will most definitely find my way back there soon.

一個很棒的晚餐體驗,值得回味!
