Chongqing lightened up with Hungary’s national colors in order to celebrate National Day of Hungary-1

Every country has at least one date, one national holiday that is significant for its people and spectacular for its visitors. August 20th is the greatest national holiday for Hungarians, celebrated with day-long festivities followed by spectacular fireworks throughout the country. Festivities start in the morning with hoisting of the national flag on Kossuth Square in Budapest and continue on all day long, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the Danube.

In order to celebrate Hungarian National Day, under the support and assistance of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Municipal People’s Government of Chongqing , People’s Government of Chongqing Yuzhong District and Chongqing Yuzhong District City Management Bureau, the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing lit up the building of HNA Polycenter – where the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing is located – with the picture of the hungarian national flag together with greatings and firework.

August 20th commemorates the foundation of Hungary. It’s also called as St. Stephen's Day, remembering Stephen I, the first king of Hungary and founder of the Kingdom of Hungary, who was canonized on August 20th, 1083 by Pope Gregory VII.
