Chongqing - Top Ten Hot Tourism Cities in National Holiday

Chinese online travel booking platform Ctrip released the Travel Tendency Report on 2018 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Holiday recently, based on the big data of its online travel booking and 7,000 offline stores as of mid-September.

The upgrading of travel conditions, more convenient transportation modes, such as high-speed rail, and price cuts at national State-owned scenic spots promoted domestic tourism for this October, the report said. The three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept 22-24 and the seven-day National Holiday from Oct 1-7 are contributing to a booming autumn travel season.


Southwest China's Chongqing is among the top 10 most popular Chinese cities for individual tourists during the 2018 National Day holiday.

Tourism reception and income



According to preliminary statistics, during the holiday period, Chongqing have received a total of 34,496,900 domestic and foreign tourists, an increase of 13.8%; the total tourism revenue was 14.127 billion yuan, an increase of 28.4%.

Mobile roaming


The city's mobile phone roaming totaled 35, 819, 500 units, an increase of 38.9%. Among them: the number of roaming roasting was 16.501 million, an increase of 55.2%; the top five entering Chongqing roaming cities were: Sichuan, Guangdong, Anhui, Hubei and Zhejiang. The number of roaming roasting was 19,318,200, an increase of 27.4% over the same period of last year; the top five leaving Chongqing roaming cites were: Sichuan, Guangdong, Anhui, Hubei and Zhejiang.

Top five urban tourism hot spots:


1. Hongyadong Scenic Spot received 796, 700 tourists, an increase of 184.5%; 2. Geleshan Martyrs Cemetery received 658, 800 tourists, an increase of 28.3%; 3. Ciqikou Ancient Town received 626, 900 tourists, an increase of 31.4%; 4. Guanyinqiao Commercial District Urban Tourism Area received 443, 800 tourists, an increase of 16.2%; 5. Landmark Riverside Park Danzishi Ancient Street received 376, 600 tourists, an increase of 15.1%.
