Direct Flight from Chongqing to Osaka Returns to Service

Kansai International Airport in Osaka, affected by the Typhoon Jebi, has begun to gradually resume international flight operations since September 8. According to the Spring Airlines, the Chongqing-Osaka air route has resumed normal flight since September 9 and 178 Chongqing passengers stranded in Osaka returned to Chongqing safely.

As a Spring Airlines Airbus A320 aircraft landed slowly at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, 178 Chongqing passengers who were stranded in Osaka due to the typhoon returned safely. According to the Spring Airlines, this flight was the first Chinese airline flight from Osaka to China after the closure of the Kansai Airport in Osaka, Japan due to the Typhoon Jebi.

Spring Airlines Chongqing introduced that after the Typhoon Jebi landed in Osaka on September 4, Osaka Airport was forced to close. Seventy-seven people in a travelling group who should have returned to Chongqing on September 4 were stranded in Osaka. Two days later, Spring Airlines added two Nagoya-Shanghai flights. Among the stranded passengers, except for two passengers who voluntarily traveled to Tokyo, the remaining 75 passengers took the bus to Nagoya and returned to China by the Nagoya-Shanghai flight.

According to the Spring Airlines, the T2 terminal building at Osaka Kansai Airport has returned to service. The facilities such as duty-free shops are normally open. The transportation facilities to and from the city are convenient and orderly. The direct flight to Chongqing has returned to service normally.
