Hungarian Consulate General Reception

On March 23th, 2018, The Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing hosted the reception for the 170th Anniversary of the 1848-1849 Revolution and War of Independence of Hungary at the InterContinental Hotel in Chongqing, and invited Li Dianxun, the Vice Mayor of Chongqing, related functional departments, enterprises, universities and media, as well as representatives from the consular agencies in Chongqing and Chengdu to attend the reception.




Mr. Dióssi Lóránd, the Consul General of Hungary in Chongqing, addressed the reception and summed up the efforts and achievements made by the Hungarian Consulate-General in Chongqing with the support of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the relevant functional departments over the past few years. And he expressed their gratitude for the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Chongqing Municipal Culture Commission, Administration of Sport of Chongqing, the Chongqing Science and Technology Commission and other departments for their strong support.The achievements of exchanges between Chongqing and Hungary are as follows:



In November 2016, the China-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center (Chongqing) was formally established. As of now, the center has already contributed to the completion of three projects.


In September 2016, Sichuan International Studies University opened the first Hungarian language major.


Last May, Hungary’s Prime Minister Orbán visited China and the two countries announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership.


On May 16, at CHINA-HUNGARY SME Cross-border Investment & Trade Cooperation Conference attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Mr. SZIJJÁRTÓ Péter, we witnessed the signing of several cooperation projects.


In addition, Consul General Dióssi Lóránd announced the official opening of the Third Western China Spring Budapest. Consul General Luo Zhen introduced that Budapest’s Spring event has been successfully held for two consecutive years. This year is the third session and the Consulate General prepares for Chongqing citizens a series of cultural feasts.
