On the afternoon of November 3, Liu Qi, secretary of the Municipal Tourism Bureau, met with the consul general of the Ethiopian consulate general in Chongqing , Mr. Chebede Abela, and his party, at the meeting room, conducted in-depth discussions on developing non-governmental exchanges and strengthening cooperation in tourism. As he introduced, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and an ancient civilization with a long history, with many world cultural and natural heritages in the country, its tourism resources are abundant. At the same time, Ethiopia is a country along the "Belt and Road", and an important hub for neighboring countries. In recent years, Ethiopia has enjoyed frequent exchanges with China in various fields such as commerce, trade and tourism. It has opened direct offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.This year in June, direct flights between Chengdong and Ethiopia were officially opened, becoming an opportunity to strengthen non-governmental exchanges between Ethiopia and Chongqing and promote cooperation in tourism between the two places.

Secretary Liu Qi extended his sincere welcome to Consul General Chebede Abela and his entourage. He introduced the development of the tourism market in Chongqing and shared his experiences and initiatives in building a world-renowned tourist destination in recent years. He expressed the hope to further enhance the mutual understanding between the two places and to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the tourism field. At the same time, he encouraged the travel agencies in our city to cooperate with Egyptian side, combined with the needs of the tourism market, jointly tap tourism highlights, introduce a wealth of tourism products to promote the common development of tourism between the two places.
